The pandemic of HIV infections has taught us a great deal about how disease is not just physical; it is emotional, political, cultural, social and spiritual. The first portion of the training is HIV 101: an overview of HIV basics, i.e. how HIV is transmitted, how HIV replicates, and some common HIV prevention strategies. The second portion of the training looks at the effects of HIV on an individual, especially related to substance abuse recovery, from the moment she learns of the infection until a treatment strategy is devised - and that treatment strategy must address the whole individual, not just their CD4 cell count. Please reserve your space at least 24 hours in advance by calling 626.332.3145. Please be advised that effective immediately we will be charging $15.00 for each Continuing Education Unit (CEU) certificate requested and provided. The trainings will continue to be free of charge. Trainers will be unable to accept any form of payment so checks or money orders may be mailed either before the training or afterward.
